I have to tell you– I’m in love. Many of you I’m sure recognize the bow. It’s from Wynne Marie Ink. Yeah… I’m kind of obsessed. She’s started making some smaller raw silk bows and they’re honestly THE perfect size. They’re great for the second and third day hairstyles where your hair is messy and textured. In love. Go get yourself one. Or two or three!!
The style on the left was created by swooping that front section of hair back and securing with bobby pins. I just placed the bobby pins flat against my head so that the bow would be more secure. The style on the right was created by twisting two front sections of hair on the left and two front sections of hair on the right into the center. Again I have bobby pins holding the hair flat against my head which helps the bow stay secure.

The style on the left was created by pulling all my hair towards one shoulder. I then took a small section from the heaviest side of my hair right above my ear, and a section from the other side right above my ear and then I bobby pinned the two sections together. Insert bow! The style on the right was created french braiding my bangs back and securing with bobby pins.
The Prettiest Ribbon Hair Ideas From Pinterest
The style on the left is just a regular braid. I left a small section of hair out of the braid near my ear and when I had tugged my braid loose, I wrapped that small section around the braid. The style on the right- I brushed my bangs back and back combed my hair then put it up in a ponytail. You’ll want to tease your ponytail and scrunch your tail with your hands while spraying with hairspray to make the tail voluminous.
The style on the left was created by making a top knot, tutorial here. And the style on the right was created by putting my thumb and pinky on my temples and pulling the bangs straight back. I teased the bangs so that they weren’t flat against my head and pinned with bobby pins!
How else are you guys using your bows? I can honestly think of ten more hairstyles I’d love to use one of these bows with. It had to end sometime though 🙂

When we hear of hair bow, we tend to think of colorful hair bows you clip on your hair. The simple accessory is fitting for any occasion; formal, casual, or somewhere in between. But forget the conventional hair clips. Welcome a whole new style of hair bow, made of your hair. The hair bow style is actually pretty old, but it’s not something you see very often. Many people think that it would be difficult to create the hairstyle; while in fact, you can make it in just a few steps.
First, you should make sure your hair is ready for styling. Comb your hair to remove knots or tangles. Then make a small section of hair on both sides of your head. Then, you would need an elastic band to tie both sections together. Instead of a full ponytail, you would have to create a loop. Make sure the loop is firm, then split the loop. Clip one of the sides. Carefully place one bobby pin from the bottom, and another one from the top. After you’ve done, repeat the step for the other side. Use your hair to cover the elastic band by wrapping it around the band. Place and bobby pin to secure it. For detailed instructions and images please visit HairAndMakeupBySteph. Would You Wear A Bow In Your Hair?
These steps would work if you want a small hair bow. For a “full-head” bow, the steps are pretty much the same, but you’d have to pull all your hair back into a ponytail, divide the loop, and use the loose strand of hair in front of the bow then pull it back to create the middle piece of the bow.
Both styles work for both long hair and medium to short hair, curly hair, and layered hair. Colored hair gives the bow more volumes, so feel free to experiment with the hairstyle. You may need to use hairspray or hair gel to make sure the bow is firm enough.

Ways To Wear A Bow In Your Hair (for A Sophisticated, Grown Up Look) — Adrianna Bohrer
For those who want the premade bow that can be easily fastened, I have created The Everyday Bow, an easy accessory that can be worn every day, no matter what may come your way! The Everyday Bow comes in 2 sizes and is made of mulberry silk to be super gentle to your locks!
Tie a large bow into a low or high pony tail on the go! Simply secure hair into low ponytail using a small runner band below the occipital bone. Then, tie the large 8” Everyday Bow or your self-made bow around ponytail, and go!
The small 5” Everyday bow with the same simple tie feature allows for it to be worn in all hair types and lengths. Like this fun fishtail braid! Starting with a side part, begin an inverted French braid that continues to the other side of the head. At the end of the braid, begin a Fishtail style braid with the rest of the remaining hair. The bow accessory at the end will look perfectly on point.
Ways To Style A Bow
In addition to casual attire and an on-the-go lifestyle, bows can be worn for fancier occasions too, like the Red Carpet! This beautiful braided ponytail was created by Bridget Brager, a hairstylist to the stars!

Don’t worry, my short hair gals, you can wear this look too! With a simple mini pony or a small braid, the accessory looks adorable secured on the side for a perfectly placed look! For hair that is too short to pony or braid, simply rubber band a small section of hair where you want to see the bow. Then, secure the small bow around the mini pony with the two ties.
Who else is obsessed with Emily In Paris?! This adorable character has brought a whole new edge to fashion and of course a bow completes her look! Lily Collins, one of the hottest actresses in Hollywood chose a black headband style bow for her red carpet premiere.
Wonderful Super Easy Bow Bun For Short Hair Style
There are so many fun ways to use an accessory, even when hair is dirty! One of my favorite looks is to throw my hair into a relaxed messy ponytail and simply add the accessory to fit my mood!
Trends are moving from casual and undone to sleek and chic! A high, structured ponytail is a go-to styling look that can be worn at any occasion. To add an edgy twist, take a small section of the pony and braid it. Secure the braid and non-braided hair together with a rubber band and add your favorite string, beads or chain to the end of the ponytail. Adding a bow and cool ribbon will dial in the perfect look.
A high ponytail and a bow? What’s not to love! On a fierce high pony, try adding your accessory or Everyday Bow to the front of the
